Signs of Nursing Home Abuse
There are certain nursing home abuse signs that people should
be aware of when a family member or loved one is under the
care of a nursing home. Some instances of nursing home abuse
are so severe that the nursing home resident is unable to
make it through the ordeal. Here are some tips to help keep
any instances of nursing home abuse from continuing.
- Sudden changes in behavior
- Bruises, cuts, burns, sprains, or fractures that are unexplained
- Venereal disease or genital infections, vaginal or anal
bleeding, or torn, stained, or bloody undergarments that
are unexplained
- Nursing home resident is not allowed to be alone with
visitors
- There is a large amount of money withdrawn from bank accounts
suddenly
- Wills and/or financial documents are abruptly changed
- Bedsores or frozen joints are present
- Sudden behavioral changes
- Loss of nursing home residents possessions
- Nursing home resident is kept in an over medicated state
- Nursing home staff does not allow visitors to see the
resident or there are delays in allowing visitors to see
the nursing home resident.
